Abstract
A compact-structure frequency-modulation Q-switched single-frequency fiber laser has been demonstrated at 1.0 μm. A piezoelectric transducer which is clamped to the fiber Bragg grating is utilized to achieve the Q-switching and frequency excursion. The range of the modulation frequency of the output pulse varies from tens to hundreds of kilohertz. Hundreds-of-megahertz frequency-tuning range is achieved and the highest peak power of the output pulse reaches almost 7.0 W.
