A Novel Optical Fiber Reflectometry Technique with High Spatial Resolution and Long Distance

Abstract

A novel optical reflectometry technique capable of suppressing the influence of phase noise is developed. A spatial resolution of 2 m over 55 km range was experimentally demonstrated with a DFB laser.
