High-speed UWB Monocycle Pulse Generation based on Cross Phase Modulation in a DA-NOLM

Abstract

Ultra-fast optical ultrawideband (UWB) pulse generation is demonstrated based on cross phase modulation in a dispersion-asymmetric nonlinear optical loop mirror (DA-NOLM). High speed UWB monocycle pulses with tunable control of the polarities have been obtained.
