Spectral-Filter-Like Effect of Raman Self Frequency Shift(RSFS) in All-Normal-Dispersion(ANDi) Fiber Laser

Abstract

We proved that RSFS can suppress the formation of noise-like pulse in ANDi fiber laser. Such RSFS suppresses intra-cavity ASE-noise like what a high pass spectral-filter does in cavity and reduce the self-start time the laser.
