Abstract

In this paper, the fundamental phenomena, basic principles, and device fabrication and characterization of surface plasmon (SP) coupled InGaN/GaN quantum-well light-emitting diode (LED) are reviewed, including experimental demonstrations and theoretical/numerical studies. A few common misunderstandings about SP-coupled LED are to be clarified.
