Abstract

The root cause of cancer is a failed or compromised host immune system. Laser immunotherapy, using photothermal interaction and immunological stimulation, induces a tumor-specific immune response. Pre-clinical and clinical results indicate that laser immunotherapy could be an effective method to treat late-stage, metastatic cancers.
