Continuously Tunable Microwave Phase Shifter with Capability of Frequency Doubling Based On Spectral Shaping Technique

Abstract

A photonic scheme of tunable microwave phase shifter with capability of frequency doubling is proposed and experimentally demonstrated based on programmable optical filter. After the phase shifter range and the microwave power variation are theoretically analyzed, a continuous phase shift with a range of 360° is experimentally verified with flat amplitude frequency response within frequency range from 20GHz to 40GHz.
