A Provident Spectrum Defragmentation based on Virtual Concatenation in Elastic Optical Networks

Abstract

The elastic optical networking has become a promising solution of allocating continuous frequency slots according to spectrum demand. A provident spectrum defragmentation is presented through virtual concatenation, and it outperforms conventional push-pull methods by simulations.
