20 Gb/s Coherent Free-Space Optical Communication System With QPSK Modulation

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate the 20 Gb/s free-space coherent optical transmission using QPSK modulation. The distortion induced by atmospheric turbulence can be compensated by DSP algorithms. The BER could achieve 10−9 at about −10dBm.
