Optimized SOA Carrier Characteristics for All-Optical NRZ Wavelength Conversion Using a Sagnac Loop

Abstract

The regenerative property of all-optical NRZ wavelength conversion using an SOA-based Sagnac loop was checked. We find that SOAs having a carrier recovery time between 2 and 3 times of one bit duration are preferred.
