Real-Time Optical OFDM and Colorless OOFDMA PONs

Abstract

Record-high 20Gb/s real-time optical OFDM IMDD transmissions over 25km SSMFs and 500m OM2 MMFs are experimentally demonstrated utilising 4GS/s DACs/ADCs. Extensive performance characteristics are reported of bidirectional OOFDMA-PONs with adaptive DBA and RSOA/REAM-based colourless ONUs.
