An Investigation on Power Allocation between Subcarriers with Mixed Formats in Spectrum-flexible Optical Networks

Abstract

We investigate launched power allocation of multi-rate transmission with mixed 16-QAM and QPSK OFDM signals, with fixed and flexible power allocation scheme discussed. Simulation results show that flexible allocation scheme achieves much better transmission performance.
