RF Down-Conversion Based on Optically Injection-locked VCSEL

Abstract

All-optical frequency down-conversion of microwave signals is proposed by directly modulated optically injection-locked VCSEL. Two tone 5 GHz RF signals are down-converted to 100 MHz IF signals with 0.0 dB OIL RF down-conversion gain.
