Thermal Analysis and Design Optimization of SOI-Integrated Microdisk Lasers

Abstract

A static thermal analysis of the hybrid InP-based microdisk laser and a thermal optimal structure are reported. The optimal structure reduces the thermal resistance by 64%, and lowers the threshold current remarkably.
