Fiber-Optic Catalytic Hydrogen Sensor Based on Thin-core Fiber Modal Interferometer

Abstract

We present a fiber-optic hydrogen sensor based on a thin-core fiber modal interferometer. The sensor is coated with a catalytic combustible thin-layer made of Pt doped WO3, on which hydrogen can initiate an exothermic reaction.
