Abstract

In large scale wavelength-routed networks without global resource information and wavelength converters, the conventional signaling scheme can not meet the demand for real-time dynamic services and fast restoration with long propagation delays. This paper proposes a tree reservation model and four reservation schemes. The simulation results demonstrate the tree schemes improve the network performance, attaining a high reduction ratio of both the blocking probability and the setup delay.
