Abstract

We demonstrate the 20-km transmission of 13-Gb/s orthogonal-frequency-division-multiplexed (OFDM) signal generated by using a 1.2-Ghz bandwidth reflective-semiconductor-optical-amplifier (RSOA) based optical-networking-unit (ONU). The bit-error-rate (BER) performance is within the forward-error-correction (FEC) threshold.
