Abstract

We have theoretically studied pulse propagation in normal-dispersion optical cubicon fiber amplifier (NDOCFA) with arbitrary longitudinal gain profile, and have obtained analytical solution for nonlinear Schrödinger equation that describes such an amplifier. The results showed that the characteristics of self-similarity and linear chirp will be lost due to third-order dispersion.
