Abstract

An accelerometer based on measurement of the reflection bandwidth and optical power of a strain-chirped fiber Bragg grating is presented. Preliminary experimental results indicate that a good linear response range up to 8 g with very low temperature dependence. The sensitivity and resolution are 0.4023 nm/g and 0.0497 g, respectively.
