Abstract

We numerically analyze the nonlinear propagation of femtosecond pulses in nonlinear photonic-crystal fiber (PCF) with anomalous dispersion. The results show efficient spectral compression of chirp-free femtosecond pulses at 1550-nm wavelength is induced in PCF. The compressed spectral width can be controlled by the input pulse power.
