Abstract

Based on the beat frequency demodulation technology, a novel dual-wavelength fiber laser sensor with a strain sensitivity of about (-3.92) MHz/με is proposed and experimentally realized. By employing a LiNbO3 modulator, the high-frequency beating signal can be tuned arbitrarily to tens or hundreds of megahertz without distortion.
