Abstract

We demonstrate a fiber-based system delivering femtosecond pulses with 5 nJ energies, continuously tunable over 2-4.3 µm through soliton self-frequency shift in fluoride fibers. Pulses with 138-fs duration and 40-kW peak power are obtained at 4.3 µm.
