Monolithic Multicore Fibre Mode-Multiplexer

Abstract

We report the first monolithic mode-selective multicore fibre multiplexer for future ultrahigh bandwidth optical communication networks. The two-mode, four-core fibre multiplexer exhibits low insertion loss and excellent mode-purity.
