Discriminating the Temperature and Strain Responses of a Fibre Bragg Grating Sensor by Exploiting its Transmittance

Abstract

We propose a novel technique to discriminate the temperature and strain response of a fibre Bragg grating sensor, using both the grating transmittance and Bragg wavelength. Both measurands exhibit a linear relation with the transmittance.
